ACLU Nebraska promotes "My Big Gay Illegal Wedding" contest

Right now there are two different Americas. One in which same-sex couples have state and federal access to marriage, and ones--like Nebraska--in which couples have access to a complicated patchwork of benefits that takes lots of work to obtain. To help share the stories of couples in states where there is still much work to do, the ACLU has launched the My Big Gay (Il)Legal Wedding contest. Couples from a state like Nebraska can enter to win a $5,000 wedding package courtesy of the ACLU. Check it out!

"It Gets Better..."

For all the garbage on the Internet, it's worth being reminded of the wonderful opportunity it provides to easily share a positive message.  This site collects video testimonials by a variety of folks with a simple message to LGBT youth: it does get better.  Many of these videos are posted by youth themselves, providing a great opportunity for peer-to-peer support which can be so helpful--particularly in more rural parts of the country like our own where visible LGBT support groups may not exist.  'A great site to share with others...check it out :)
